For part 1 of this assignment, I have chosen to reach out using the UNICEF website, I sent emails to representatives in China and Northern Africa. I sent my emails on Thursday and have yet to get a response, if I do not receive a response by Thursday of this week, I will move towards the alternate assignment. I look forward to their response because I think that it will be beneficial to establish contact with professionals abroad.
For part two I chose Zero to Three because I used that website quite a few times during previous classes. I find it to be beneficial if you are consistent, once you establish contact with a representative, keep it going.
Which representatives did you chose in China and Northern Africa? Is there a particular reason that you chose these regions?
ReplyDeleteI also chose Zero to Three. Do you teach children in that age bracket? If so have you used anything from that website that has be beneficial?
ReplyDeleteThe representative is located in Beijing and the other is Djibouti. I chose these regions because I feel like culturally, they are opposite and I would like to compare and contrast their beliefs on the importance of education and what is being done to help in these areas. I would think that the way they serve each region would be different since the cultures are different.
ReplyDeleteI have taught 2 year olds for 3 years and this was my first year teaching High School, I enjoy teaching Parenting and Child Development. Not only do I use Zero to Three, but my students chose articles and reported on them. I enjoy that website and all it has to offer, I am interested in learning even more.
Hi Danielle are think your choices are great I think the ages 0 to 3 are very detrimental ages and children learn a lot during this time. While learning never ends these years are the most tender years.
ReplyDeleteGreat Post
Danielle,
ReplyDeleteI too remember using Zero to Three website for one of my assignments in course 1. It is a great website that is neatly organized with a wealth of information. I agree with you that keeping it consistent will help you learn the most from one good resource. I will follow you during the course because I am sure that you will be an expert with that website by the end of it. I am using my organization's website, they have newsletters and other resources that I have always intended to explore but haven't had a chance to do so. Now, I will look forward to becoming an expert with Bright Horizons website, it will also help me learn more about the company I work for and what they do for the families and the field. Good luck and I look forward to your posts.
Best,
Divya
